Product Structure Tools Toolbar
The Product Structure Tools allow you to access most of the functions you use in an assembly.
New Component
Creates a new component and adds it to the assembly. This component only exists within the individual Product file. Use this option if you don't want a sub-assembly to be used by another product. A separate CATIA file is not created.
New Product
Creates a new product and adds it to the assembly. A new CATProduct file is created and can be referenced by other Product files.
New Part
Inserts a new part in the selected component. A new CATPart file is created and can be referenced by other product files.
Existing Component
Inserts an existing component in the assembly.
Existing Component With Positioning
Inserts an existing component in the assembly; however, you can immediately position the component using Smart Move.
Replace Component
Replaces the existing component by another component.
Graph Tree Reordering
Allows you to reorder child components and sub-assemblies in the Product Specification Tree.
Generate Numbering
Allows you to number the components of an assembly. CATIA can number the components automatically or you can specify numbering options. You can use this in conjunction with balloon generation in Drafting. Whatever numbers you assign here are the ones used in Drafting.
Manage Representations
Manages the representations of the selected component. This allows you to associate, remove, activate, deactivate, rename representations, or to set a unique default.
Fast Multi Instantiation
CATIA creates multiple instances of a component based on parameters you specify in the Multi-Instantiation dialog. However, you access the dialog only through the Define Multi Instantiation function.
Define Multi Instantiation
Defines the parameters of multi-instantiation before using the Fast Multi Instantiation command.
Move Toolbar
The Move toolbar allows you quick access to the component manipulation tools in the Assembly Design workbench.
Manipulation
Moves a component by freehand translation or rotation with the mouse.
Snap
Moves a component onto another component by snapping. This is done by picking a geometric element on one part and projecting it onto a similar geometric element on another part. The component picked first then moves from its original position onto the second part.
Smart Move
Moves a component onto another component by snapping with an option for automatic constraint creation.
Explode
Edits a group of objects you want to explode.
Stop Manipulate on Clash
Stops any move operation just before a clash occurs.
